My Endo Journey...
Although only diagnosed with Endometriosis (Endo) in 2022, I has suffered from painful periods from an early age. I was always told it was normal and to take a variety of medications to handle the pain. Wanting to live a more holistic life, I stopped birth control and my period became worse. I visited a specialist, who confirmed I likely had Endo and suggested a hysterectomy. Not giving up that easy, I changed my whole lifestyle trying to mitigate the pain and avoid surgery. This is when I fell into the world of menstrual health and really understanding my cycle. I relearned everything I thought I knew about the woman’s cycle and was determined to share it with others thus creating the Peaceful Periods Crash Course. Inevitably, I eventually had the laproscopic surgery due to the debilitating pain. My surgery was one of the worst cases the surgeon had ever seen with the scar tissue fusing many organs together. I’m now 2 years post op and my periods are manageable. I’m on a maintenance medication that has reduced the spread of Endo but has put my body into a menopausal state. I’m not letting this stop me though, and I’m happy to finally share my story!
